No two houses are the same. Your neighbor or relative may have low radon levels, but this doesn't necessarily mean your house will have low levels as well. We will test your home quickly, accurately, and precisely to determine the level of radon you may be exposed to. Testing is simple and non-invasive. It can be completed as quickly as 48 hours using a continuous radon monitor.
The EPA also recommends that you have your house tested every 2 years.
The EPA recommends that a mitigation system be installed once radon levels reach 4.0 pCi/L or above. Radon is a known carcinogen and exposure can lead to lung cancer. By lowering the level of radon in your home you can limit your exposure to radon and its health effects.
The most common type of mitigation is called Active Soil Depressurization. There are other types as well, but depending on the construction of the house this can be the most effective way of lowering radon levels. Each home is different therefore each system is designed specifically for that house to be the most efficient and cost effective system.
Contact Edge Radon if your house needs a mitigation system installed.
Air and soil gas is drawn from under the house using a radon fan and piping to exhaust it to the exterior of the house where it will be discharged and diluted with the outside air. These systems require very little maintenance and come with a gauge to show if the fan is working properly.
Each system comes with a 5 year warranty on the fan and 1 year parts and labor warranty.
